In the midst of all that has been going on, we have not been “in school” with our Good News Club since last March. As we close out our first year not being able to be “in the school”, I PRAISE God for the 12 years we were able to share the GOOD NEWS of Jesus in this public school and the hundreds of children that have heard the gospel during that time and the many who have trusted Christ as their savior from sin through this club.
This past spring we mailed Easter Cards and then in September we sent them “Do you wonder WHY?” booklets with Answers to Tough Questions. My family spent all day yesterday assembling Christmas packets, and then we spent all day today delivering them to the 45 families. We had some awesome interactions with a few of the children, many grateful moms and we even were able to give a gift bag to a new family with 3 children who now live in the apartment that the other children lived in. The Christmas packets we dropped off to our Good News Clubbers included a devotional book, a bookmark, candy cane with a Joyful News card and a letter providing ways to connect with the church and stay connected with Good News Club thru U-Nite TV. In the letter we asked the parents to call/text when their child/children completed the devotional and I would bring them another.
In the new year we will be giving out gospel bracelet’s with CEF materials that go along with the bracelets. At this point I’m not sure if I’ll hand deliver them or if we’ll mail them out. Pray with us that these materials and connections will be a blessing to the children and their parents and bear much fruit.
