What Does Infinity Mean?

Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship® that consists of trained teachers meeting with groups of children after school in schools, homes, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, and just about anywhere that the children can easily and safely meet. Each week, the teacher presents an exciting Bible lesson. The action-packed time also includes songs, Scripture memorization, a missionary story, and review games!

During Good News Club last week, a first grader leaned over to his teacher and asked, “What does infinity mean?” His teacher was a full-time missionary with Chicago CEF and gladly answered his question. “Infinity means never-ending, EVER.” She drew an infinity sign with her finger on the cafeteria table where they were meeting for After School Good News Club. Without another word, he jumped up and ran off to play a game with the rest of the kids. The very next week, another Good News Club teacher began teaching the story of Cain and Abel. She told the children that even though Adam and Eve loved their firstborn child, God loved him more. “God loves you too with an eternal, or everlasting, love.” The first grader’s hand shot up. He obeyed the Good News Club rules and waited patiently for the teacher to call on him. “Infinity means forever and ever and ever and ever…” he shared with a smile on his face. He leaned back in his chair, crossed his feet in satisfaction, and listened closely to the rest of the story. This first grader was able to add his knowledge to the story, and by doing that, he became invested in the lesson. Our goal for each student is to hear, understand, and react to the Word of God.

Getting children engaging with God’s word is a crucial part of evangelism. That day, it took the form of understanding terminology. Other days it’s allowing the kids to read verses from the Bible lesson. Each Bible lesson taught in a Good News Club is unique. Each teacher brings his or her teaching style and voice to the lesson. But as different as the teaching styles are, the Word of God is a constant. The way we strive to get kids involved and excited about Scripture is the same. It should amaze us that we can still go into the public schools and teach the gospel. God is so clearly keeping that door open for us. This incredible opportunity isn’t infinite. In today’s political climate we may have 50 years, we may have 25 years, or we may only have 5 more years to bring the gospel into the public schools.

How will you seize the day that the Lord has made? We don’t have an infant amount of time to reach the children with the gospel. With your help and finial support, we can use the time we have well. Will you attend a training to become a teacher in a Good News Club? Or financially adopt a Good News Club that is going on in the Chicago land area? Contact us at  [email protected] to get started.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
