I want you to imagine seven church members gathered over two days in the church sanctuary while a CEF missionary tosses candy at them whenever they answer questions from the textbook or read Bible verses about reaching children with the Gospel. As you might imagine, it was a fun and uplifting time for one church that learned how to share the Gospel with children while having fun this past month. They answered questions like, “Why extend the Gospel to children?” and “Can children recognize and respond to their sin condition?” or “Can children be saved?” (Yes!) The church attendees laughed together and learned together through sharing stories of working with children as they worked through the workshop material. One CEF teacher remarked, “I took a moment between classes to reflect: after 13 years of children’s ministry, I’m still learning! I walked away from that weekend hoping that the attendees learned as much as I did from the various ideas and that they had caught the fresh enthusiasm that I felt.
This curriculum workshop taught at a church (but made available to the nearby community) covered the Wordless Book, which is an eye-catching method of presenting the Gospel to people of all ages. Then my colleague and I taught the attendees to seamlessly weave the concepts of the Wordless Book into the Bible lessons they would be teaching the children in their Sunday school and children’s church.”
Now imagine a group of 7 from your own church. Men and woman that would be interested in attending a CEF training for your church. Those who would desire to become better equipped in ministry to children. Contact us about sharing more about the many CEF trainings we offer for free to Cook and DuPage county residents.
