This season of ministry has been especially difficult given the restrictions of Covid. However, the CEF Chicago team banded together to create something we had never done before. We created a Zoom Good News Club! Our purpose for hosting one was to spread the Gospel about the real reason behind Christmas; the story of Jesus Christ’s birth while abiding by Covid safe guidelines. We were successful in our planning and at the end of 2020, we were able to witness via zoom to 17 children and tell them the story of how Jesus Christ came to Earth as our savior!
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to evangelize to these children during such a tumultuous time. It took weeks of planning, preparation, and advertising the event for it to happen. CEF of Chicago could not have done it without prayer from people like you, and our volunteers willing to give up some of their valuable time during the Christmas season to evangelize to children. All of the preparations were done over zoom due to Covid. But that did not hinder us in spreading the Gospel effectively!
We taught to 17 students and while none accepted Christ in that meeting, we are remaining confident that these children will have more opportunities to come to Christ. Many of these children had never heard of the word of Christ before and it was their first time hearing about Jesus’ birth. A verse comes to mind about this Christmas party club, Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” We are confident and rest assured that the message of salvation that was proclaimed to those 17 students will not return void.
Would you come alongside us as we pray for the salvation of these 17 children? Would you be praying for CYIAers who are willing to volunteer their time to help us spread the Good News of Christ? There are 1.1 million children in the Cook and DuPage County area that need to be evangelized to and prayed for. Would you pray for them with us?
