It seems every generation has a story to share about a difficult time that they experienced as a child. The Great Depression, a war, a recession, the 911 attack. While today’s school age children will never forget about this Corona virus pandemic, you can be a part of having an everlasting impact in their lives as they look back, and remember, that it was during this very time, that they learned about The Lord Jesus Christ, His great love for them, and how they came to know Him as their Lord and Savior through C.E.F.

With the emergence of the COVID-19 Virus having forced the closures of schools and churches, our dedicated staff at Chicago Child Evangelism Fellowship (C.E.F) knew they needed to explore, and implement new ways to ensure that children would still be reached with the Good News of Jesus. Now, perhaps more than ever, children would need biblical guidance and encouraging support. One method was the packing and shipping of 500 “Pastor Packets” that were mailed to churches, filled with children’s devotionals, for the children in their congregations, these devotionals were also given to current Good News Club children, the staff then followed up with them via Zoom and or a phone calls (with parent’s permission) to review the material, answer any questions they may have had, and to pray with them about their concerns or fears, and there were many.
On June 23rd we will begin our yearly summer training season called C.Y.I.A. Christian Youth In Action where staff will train teenagers for 11 days on how to effectively share Bible stories, Memory Verses, Songs, and Games throughout the summer in what we call ” 5 Day clubs”(Online versions will be available and smaller in- person groups that meet safety guidelines as well.)
The “Eternal Impact” campaign is an effort to raise $25,000 by June 30th Your support will:
- Provide financial support to our staff, many of whose monthly support has been either lost or greatly reduced
- Help reduce the debt on the mortgage of our Housing and Urban Ministry Building (H.U.B) which is the catalyst that makes much of our efforts possible by providing free housing to our staff in order for them to focus on ministry full time.
- Help in funding the necessary trainings that take place throughout the year.
