It’s with sad hearts we must announce that Ignite CYIA 2020 has been canceled. Our CEF Chicago Board and Director met and prayed over the decision to cancel this year’s retreat due to the health risk it would pose.
We seek comfort in this disappointing time in God’s word. 2 Corinthians 12:9-11 says, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was not at all inferior to these super-apostles, even though I am nothing.”
We invite all those who were looking forward to this retreat to join us in being sad about the loss of an opportunity to gather as a body of believers, but to also join us in rejoicing this time we can take a step back and see God make himself known in these trying times. We also look forward with even more excitement towards Summer 2020 and the ministry we will have with the teens at CYIA 2020.
