We had the opportunity to face paint and share the Gospel at Millennium Park recently. The interesting thing was that we had more adults come by than kids. We told the adults that we normally do this for children and that when we do, we share the Gospel with them. One Lady asked me, “What exactly would you tell the child?” So I began to share with her the Gospel through the Wordless Book colors and when we got to the part of believing in Jesus to save us from our sin, she said she comes from a Catholic background and has completed 5 of the sacraments. At that point, I was able to share with her my testimony because I too was raised Catholic and could relate to where she was coming from. I told her that the Bible says we can’t and aren’t saved by works but by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). She was surprised to hear that. After some thought, she said, “I believe!” as a profession.
I then shared with her how she can grow in her relationship with God. With tears in her eyes, she thanked me for sharing with her and she hugged me. That day I talked to people from all kinds of backgrounds. Some were Jewish, Buddhist, Catholic, Non- theistic and Christians as well. Some we talked to only spoke Spanish. We were encouraged by the Christians to continue the work of the Lord. Overall I was reminded of the sweet joy of sharing with others the Love of God and His perfect plan of Salvation.
