Timothy

Timothy comes to one of our After School Good News Clubs. Every week when children are given the opportunity to come back to ask about salvation, Timothy is there with the other kids. However, he always is very careful to explain to us,

“I’ve asked Jesus to take away my sins. I’m here to watch you explain to others how they can have their sins forgiven by believing in Jesus–because I want to get good at teaching that to other people.”

Timothy acts as if he’s 11 years old in the way he carries himself, his confidence and intelligence; however, when recently asked how old he was, he said he was 8. When talking about him to a teacher at this Good News Club, she responded,

“Oh, yes, I know Timothy. He comes from a very sad family. I believe he lives with his grandmother, and there have been times in the past where no one even bothered to pick him up after school. His older brother was molested when the boys were younger… sad family. Timothy is a diamond in the rough–that boy needs all the love he can get.”

We are so thankful for the chance to show Timothy God’s love. God is raising him up at a young age from a difficult background to become a leader among his peers and an evangelist to those around him. We look forward to how God is going to be using him in the future.
