“People messed up His creation,”

Twelve children, ages 4 through 11. Some of them understood the theology and church history behind the Protestant Reformation, while others had never heard the story of Noah before. And two of them didn’t understand a word of English. It was these two who caught the eye of the Sunday school teacher as they sat in the back of the classroom with the interpreter and their mother. These twins from a creative access country had never heard the Gospel before, didn’t know the first thing about church and had no idea who Jesus was. As they were told about God’s one way of salvation of Noah (the ark) and Jesus’ one way of salvation for us, pausing each sentence for the interpreter, the teacher prayed that the interpreter was explaining the Gospel clearly and that the girls were understanding. “Why did God have to start over with the world? Did he mess up?” They asked through the interpreter. “People messed up His creation,” the teacher explained. Their mother, sitting on the other side of the interpreter smiled.

     That upcoming Easter Sunday, The family had made professions of faith, and the father was baptized. Bringing the Gospel to all the nations isn’t an easy calling, but we serve a mighty God. He used the teaching of that Sunday school teacher thought the voice of that interpreter to call His children to Himself. We can rest assured that if we seek Him, He will help us grow in our faith and help us witness to the children He places in our lives.
